NEW: 10 PhD scholarships in sustainable forest and nature management  - Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctoral Programme in Forest and Nature For Society (FONASO)

Forest and Nature for Society (FONASO) is a three-year world-class Joint Doctoral Programme. The main objective is to educate researchers, teachers and management staff working with sustainable forest and nature management, in both tropical and temperate regions, to ensure wider societal benefits. Within forest and nature management, the programme is focused on the scientific fields of (i) economics and policy, and (ii) ecology and silviculture. The emphasis is on applied research.

Danida Travel Grants for Master Students

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites applications for travel grants in support of thesis field work of master students enrolled at a Danish higher education institution (includes OSVAL II studies for medical students). The applications will be evaluated by the research networks.

Closing Date for Application: November 1, 2010, at 12:00. Replies should be expected about six weeks after the closing date.

Postgraduate Awards Scheme, University of York

The University of York usually offers between 30 and 40 scholarships and studentships for PhD and Masters students under the University Postgraduate Awards Scheme. 
The scheme includes different kinds of PhD studentships and Master courses, including the new MA in Aplpied Human Rights.
