Roskilde Development Day

Time and venue: November 3, 2009 - Roskilde University, Denmark

The theme of the conference was the impact of global crises on international
development. The sessions addressed three of these global crises – the
climate crisis, the global economic crisis and the AIDS crisis. The day was
planned to introduce cutting edge research which addresses major topics in
development studies and their linkages to global crises.

The goals and objectives of the conference were met. Each session provided an introduction to a major development theme accessible to a wide audience. Guest speakers introduced each topic, and discussants then gave presentations on the session topic. Discussants included ISG researchers and PhD students. Thus, the conference contributed to the local research environment as well as featuring prominent external speakers of interest to the broader audience.
