NEW: 2010 Euro-Africa e-Infrastructures Conference

This conference, hosted by the European Commission and the African Union Commission, aims to promote Euro-African cooperation and European e-Infrastructures developments and exploitation in Africa.

Call for papers: Future Imperatives of Communication and Information for Development and Social Change

This conference forms part of a series of preparatory and inter-connected conferences, coordinated by ORBICOM-UNESCO Chairs in Communication, across the regions of the world to focus the attention of the most experienced and innovative information and communication scholars, practitioners and policy-makers on these new challenges towards world development and sustainability.

Information for Change 2010 - Digital Publishing in Africa: The Next Steps

Sharing Knowledge, Increasing Impact: A series of workshops on publishing for development. This workshop will examine emerging digital publishing models in East Africa. Speakers will present first-hand experience of the realities of working in the region, and will showcase and share innovative approaches to the creation and delivery of information.

The public understanding of science in Africa

The workshop organised by the Centre of African Studies, University of Cambridge, the British Institute of East Africa and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine will look at the relation between science and scientists, the civil public and policy makers. The workshop will a.o. discuss opportunities for participation in decision-making, policy and public debates, and the meanings of citizenship and the development of networks of concerned actors in relation to scientific issues.

Workshop - Initiate linking between Danish research and development institutions to promote opportunities for organic agriculture and demand-driven research

The objectives of this workshop are to present, discuss and analyse the opportunities and limitations of collaboration between research institutions and NGOs focusing on organic and/or agro-ecological farming. The workshop will map out requirements for systems of communication and dissemination of information as well as feedback systems on lessons learnt to secure a dynamic loop of demand-driven research and implementation of efficient and innovative organic and agro-ecological farming methods.

Call for papers and sessions: IEEE/ACM Conference on Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICTD2010)

The goal of the ICTD2010 conference is to provide an international forum for scholarly researchers as well as development practioners, policymakers etc. exploring ICT's applied to development. ICTD2010 will be hosted by the UNESCO Chair in ICT4D and the ICT4D Research Centre at the University of London. ICTD2010 has launched a call for conference papers, sessions and workshops.
