NEW: Call for abstracts for sessions on water and climate change: Climate Change and Impact Assessment - IAIA Special Symposium

Call for abstracts for the following two sessions on water and climate change: 'River basin water quality and ecosystem assessment and management in a changing climate' and 'Marine climate change impact assessment and management'.

NEW: Clean Development Mechanism Africa

Clean Development Mechanism Africa will consider the current legislative environment in the run up to 2012 and the complex dynamic required to achieve successful CDM project results. The event will provide the opportunity to define and explore the key challenges, opportunities and processes associated with CDM, by examining project case studies, best practice and innovative examples.

NEW: Climate Change Adaptation - linking policies and practice

A workshop on climate change challenges and options for Danish development assistance organised by the Climate Change Task Force in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Issues to be discussed:
• How will climate change affect economic growth in developing countries?´
• What are key lessons from and recommendations to climate change adaptation in developing countries?
• Which tools, methods and policies are recommended for Danish development assistance to improve adaptation to climate change in developing countries?

African Conference on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change

This meeting is organized by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), African Union Commission (AUC), Ethiopia, Netherlands, Norway and Germany.

Call for papers: Climate Change Impact, Adaptation and Mitigation - Researchers' Day

This event aims to present an overview of Danish knowledge within climate change research related to international challenges and developing countries, increase cooperation between climate change researchers from different disciplines including natural, social, health and economic sciences and provide room for networking and discussion between climate change researchers.

International Graduate Conference on Climate Change and People

The conference, organized by The Small Earth Nepal and the Consortium for Capacity Building (University of Colorado) in collaboration with the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Government of Nepal, Centre of Research for Environment Energy and Water (Nepal), Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand) and International Research Center for River Basin Environment, University of Yamanashi (Japan), is mainly focused on the multidisciplinary capacity building of graduate students of various disciplines through the sharing of knowledge and experience by experts and participants on Climate Affairs, from climate-related science to impacts to policy & economics to ethics & equity.

2nd United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)/Yale 2010 Conference on Environmental Governance and Democracy: Strengthening Institutions to Address Climate Change and Advance a Green Economy

The Conference on Environmental Governance and Democracy will take place at Yale University in the margins of the United Nations Millennium Development Goal Summit held in New York on 20-22 September. The event will take stock of and examine the role of institutional structures and decision-making procedures in fostering (or impeding) low carbon and climate resilient development.

Call for papers: ICCAFFE 2011 - Climate change, agri-food, fisheries and ecosystems

The ICCAFFE 2011 conference hosted by the North-South Research Center for Social Sciences (NRCS) will focus on issues related to climate change, agriculture, food security and ecosystems from an interdisciplinary approach and a developing country perspective. It intends to bring together scientists, policy-makers, practitioners, and non-state actors from different regions to share updated research outcomes and relevant experiences and set future research and policy agendas. A call has been issued for presentations, posters and papers relating to conference themes.

The IAIA Special Symposium is a two-day symposium bringing together international experts and practitioners in impact assessment and climate change where the latest studies and work linking impact assessment and climate change will be reviewed. Furthermore it will be explored how collaborative work among experts in climate change and IA professionals can be advanced.

Call for Papers: Climate Change: Spatial Concerns and Mitigation Strategies

MILEN International Conference: Visions and strategies to address sustainable energy and climate change

Environmental change and sustainable energy (MILEN) is a new interfaculty research area at the University of Oslo.
The conference will bring together international scholars working across disciplines on sustainable energy and climate change. The ultimate goal of the conference will be setting the agenda for further inter-disciplinary collaboration among social and natural scientists researching these critical topics.
