NEW: Climate Change Adaptation - linking policies and practice

A workshop on climate change challenges and options for Danish development assistance organised by the Climate Change Task Force in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Issues to be discussed:
• How will climate change affect economic growth in developing countries?´
• What are key lessons from and recommendations to climate change adaptation in developing countries?
• Which tools, methods and policies are recommended for Danish development assistance to improve adaptation to climate change in developing countries?

NEW: Call for papers: Climate Change Impact, Adaptation and Mitigation - Researchers' Day

This event aims to present an overview of Danish knowledge within climate change research related to international challenges and developing countries, increase cooperation between climate change researchers from different disciplines including natural, social, health and economic sciences and provide room for networking and discussion between climate change researchers.

NEW: Conference: Understanding the possibilities and limitations for Africa to access international markets: a good basis for real development

After decades of bilateral collaboration between Africa and Europe, it is now believed that the interest to have direct contact between African and European private companies will lead to development through the private sector as opposed to governments. In order to provide a good basis for this collaboration, it is important to understand the possibilities and limitations for African producers to be valuable partners for their European counterparts. This seminar invites scientific experts from Denmark and Africa to discuss the rules of international trade and their consequences for African producers' access to European markets.

Call for papers: 2010 Bolivian Conference on Development Economics (BCDE2010)

The conference aims at bringing together local and international scholars for the exchange of ideas and discussion of recent results within theoretical and applied development economics research. Female researchers and young Bolivian researchers are particularly encouraged to submit papers on all topics within the field of development economics.

Workshop - Initiate linking between Danish research and development institutions to promote opportunities for organic agriculture and demand-driven research

The objectives of this workshop are to present, discuss and analyse the opportunities and limitations of collaboration between research institutions and NGOs focusing on organic and/or agro-ecological farming. The workshop will provide a space for discussing ideas on objectives and structure of a collaboration network between research and development organisations in Denmark as well as with research institutions, development organisations and farmers internationally.
